About Me

Shopping for the Perfect Furniture After three months of construction, my new home is almost ready for my husband and me to move into. One of the most rewarding parts of this amazing journey was going furniture shopping for pieces to put in my new space. While shopping for items, I picked out a gorgeous wooden bench to place in my foyer. I also selected a comfortable couch, a velvet chaise lounge, and an accent chair complete with nail-head trim. Before making my final purchases, I shopped at a few reputable furniture stores. I also made pictures of the pieces I was interested in. On this blog, I hope you will discover valuable tips to help you select the furniture you’ve always dreamed about. Enjoy!

Did Christmas shopping and all of the festivities of the holiday leave you pretty broke? It might be that you overspent, thinking that you would receive a hefty bonus which just didn't materialize. Or, you might just be wanting extra cash for an unexpected expense, say a trip or an unanticipated trip to the dentist. For whatever reason that you need cash, from having a garage sale to selling gold to get extra cash, here are some ideas that might help you to get back on your feet.

Garage Sale - There are garage sales....and then there are garage sales! If you want to get serious cash from selling some of your belongings, you more than likely will need to bite the bullet to get rid of stuff in your home that you know that you're never going to use again. For example, you might have an expensive electric bread maker that has been sitting on your kitchen cabinet for years, and you simply never use it. You might even be holding onto clothes that fit when you were twenty pounds lighter. Face it, if you lose your weight, you'll probably want to get newer styles, anyway.

In other words, go through all of your drawers, cabinets and closets and give things up for the cash that you can get when you have your garage sale. It may not seem that five dollars for a blouse will help a lot, but multiply that by the other five dollar blouses, then add the other money you'll get and you might be surprised at how much money you can rake up right from your own home. Of course, it will help if family members pitch in, too.

Pawn Shop - Have you ever been to a pawn shop before? If so, you already know that the clerks will accept anything from used guitars to gold jewelry. If you've never stepped inside a pawn shop, prepared to be amazed at the amount of money you can rake in by selling your belongings. Do you have gold jewelry or gold coins that you want to sell quickly? If so, you can sell them right at a pawn shop in your area. The great part about selling gold or anything else at a pawn shop is that you have a grace period that allows you to redeem the objects that you have sold. Be sure to keep any paper work that you get at the time of the sale.
